The growth of California and gold fever


January 1848 was James Marshall the building from a sawmill for his employer, checked, when he saw an odd rock to reverse soil glistened.

Still, at least 32,000 people actually went to California in the years 1849 and approximately 44,000 got more 1850. Others, faced as South Americans, an arduous journey by sea. Suffered storms, shipwrecks, hunger and thirst, disease and overcrowding and after all was that some mule still undergo travel through jungles and deserts! In less than a year, about 40,000 people from overseas is still, arrived in San Francisco.

The variety of backgrounds rose umpteen times, but a dramatic change in California gives the newcomers population, because in 1848, California about 100,000 people who were most Indians, but within two years of the State population more than doubled.

Found some gold mining gold and made a lot of money in the California rivers, but most people in the gold rush become rich. When gold was found, the cache was usually quickly deleted. James Marshall had little success as a miner and he died impoverished. John Sutter, who once had 39,000 hectares owned California left in over-indebtedness, after gold country be flattened.
